Electrical Testing & Inspection, Fault finding & meter monitoring in Shropshire, the Midlands and beyond

To comply with regulations our qualified electricians in the a case of a new electrical installation complete and provide our clients with a Electrical Installation Certificate. In a case of an alteration of an existing electrical installation we provide our clients with a Minor Electrical Work Certificate.  If we undertake a direct replacement of a device or an accessory then a documented Electrical Safety Test is undertaken and results noted on our clients paperwork for their records.

We also undertake industrial and commercial five year testing of electrical installations to provide a Electrical Condition Reports (ECR). Failure to complete periodic fixed electrical inspection and testing may render insurance policies for buildings, contents, property, public liability as well as other insurance policies invalid. Furthermore its important for the safety of your building and staff. Cabling and accessories can become old, brittle and worn which can result in instance such as fire and even death, so it is important that the business owner/duty holder ensures that they have an appropriate inspection and testing programme in place.

In a case where the original Electrical Installation Certificate or the latest Electrical Installation Condition Report is available, the level of testing is usually far less for periodic inspection and testing then for initial verification testing. In most cases however, past documents are either missing or incomplete and in this case a 100% of the installation must be tested. Just one of the reasons why at Q Technical all our clients certification records are held in electronic form so we can recall them if and when need.

All of the above are requirements not expectations, to ensure our clients are fully compliant with regulations and the law. Electrical installations that comply with BS7671 are likely to satisfy statutory regulations such as the Electricity at Works Regulations 1989. Not to comply is a criminal offence and could result in a hefty fine or imprisonment.
